If it is up to retiring KFPS Chairmen Cees Rooozemond, the Central Inspection in Drachten must be turned into an event with up to four to five thousand visitors. Equestrian Sports are in need of a strong boost which requires much more emphasis on promotional activities. We have made a promising start but the strength lies in the details. More enthusiasm is key, together with creating more openness and working towards a growing appreciation and coverage by the media and the authorities.
Because the location in Warga is always subject to weather conditions the event has been relocated to the congress centre FCD in Drachten. Steps have been taken to combine the mare inspection with enhanced show-and sports elements as well as include part of the Saturday night program. Roozemond: "We are expecting around two thousand visitors. There will be no entrance fee because we see this as a gesture to the public. In the long run it should be possible to draw four thousand people. That should be no problem".
