New set-up Central Mare Inspection

07/06/2014

The Central Mare Inspection has been a two-day event for quite some years now with in particular the Saturdays being jam-packed from early in the morning till late in the evening. This called for some change and the program also needed some fresh input to offer the audience something else besides examination classes. It has all the signs that the KFPS has succeeded in their transformation of the upcoming Central Mare Inspection which guarantees more variation between sport and inspections on both days. This makes for a more interesting programme and will certainly attract a wider audience.

Youth and dressage
Just like before, Friday September 12th will be the day for young people to show off their talent for dressage. During the morning the indoor arena will be the scene of the pre-selection rounds for dressage aptitude. The finals of the ‘Pavo Fryso Cup’ will take place soon after the pre-selections. For this occasion the two guest jury members Diederik van Silfhout and Benjamin Maljaars will get into the saddle of the best horses.
Following the pre-selection for dressage aptitude (Pavo Fryso Cup), the ring is open for the Hippiade Carriage Driving Championships of the Ladies Class, Open Class and Two-in-hand. Next the best dressage horses will swing into action in the Final of the Pavo Fryso Cup.
When the dressage horses have left the ring we will continue indoors with the inspection of the 4 to 6-year-old Star mares which takes place in two triangles.
‘Considering the number of inspected horses during previous Central Mare Inspection we decided it was a better option to relocate the inspection of 4 to 6-year-old Star mares to the Friday, but the Champion Inspection of this class will still be on the agenda for the Saturday’, Marijke Akkerman of the KFPS explains.
In the morning the foals will be inspected outdoors which will be concluded with the Championship. Following this the program features the inspection of yearlings, 2-year-olds and geldings which will lead up to the Youngster Championships. Next the grounds will be open for the finals of the KFPS Outdoor Driving Competition. This competition is a new addition to the Central Mare Inspection which gives the event an even larger appeal.

Inspections and shows
Most of the Saturday morning program will be taken up by the inspections of the 3-year-old Star mares, Star mares aged seven and older, Crown and Model mares. The afternoon programme features Champion inspections, alternated with the pre-selection and finals of show driving aptitude, Model declaration, parade of Model mares and the Prize of the Best in driving.
Starting times of this provisional program are 9.00am on Friday morning and 8.30am on Saturday morning. The Overall Championship is scheduled for 17.45. Please note that these times may still change. We will have the full picture regarding the number of entries after the breeding day in Blauwhuis at the end of August after which the final schedule will be drawn up. This schedule will be uploaded on the website.
