FHANA Research Grant Information

The FHANA Board of Directors along with the FHANA Education Committee have established a Grant Program.




In following the FHANA Strategic Plan sections:

1.2 Leader in genetic research and wellness

4.4 Sponsor genetic research

The goal of the FHANA Research Grant Program is to support equine veterinarians in the United States of America or Canada who are in programs that will advance their research skills with a goal of continuing an academic or research career path that will ultimately improve the health and welfare of Friesian horses.

Selected applicants for the FHANA Research Grant Program will be funded up to $10,000 in total in 2022.

The program’s areas of research interest for 2022 include:

·        Megaesophagus

·        Aortic Rupture

·        Chronic Progressive Lymphedema (CPL)

·        Colic

·        Connective Tissue Disorders

·        Insect Bite-Hypersensitivity
