Chapter of the Year

The Chapter of the Year is a program that was designed to acknowledge all of the efforts of each of the FHANA chapters throughout North America. Each chapter is unique in how they participate within the organization and they help to promote the Friesian Horse. The Chapter will receive points in each of the following categories:

  • Membership Retainment and Growth
  • Shows & Competitions
  • FHANA Promotional Events
  • Clinics & Educational Events
  • Demonstrations, Parades, Inspections
  • Technology

NEW FOR 2021!!!  The Chapter of the Year will be divided into 3 regions (see regional map below).  The regions are split by regions: Western, Central, and Eastern.  Each region will contend with the other 5-7 chapters within their region and will be recognized as the Regional Chapter of the Year.  Each regional winner will be awarded $500 to be used towards an educational clinic along with a small Regional Chapter of the Year Award which will be awarded during the FHANA Annual General Meeting.

The overall Chapter of the Year will then be selected from the 3 Regional Winners and the one with the overall High Points will be awarded FHANA Chapter of the Year.  The Chapter of the Year will receive a plaque from FHANA and would be presented during the following years Annual General Meeting. There will also be a perpetual trophy that will stay in the FHANA headquarters in Lexington, KY. The Chapter of the Year will also be eligible for a $500 grant to be allocated with Board approval.
Each Chapter is required to track their volunteer hours and participating competitions. Chapter of the Year application deadline is November 30th of each year.
