Starting this year FHANA will now require ALL Horses over the age of 6 months to have a current coggins test. A copy of which will be required to be turned in to the Inspection site hosts. The FHANA Board took this action when it became aware that not all states require the coggins test. It is the FHANA Boards position that we provide the safest environment possible to our horses and to our members interests. The Board feels this should lend a level of comfort to owners knowing that all is being done for the welfare of Friesians attending our inspections.
It is recommended that this test be done in conjunction with other vet visit so as to reduce the cost of the test.
