It’s not many stallions that can claim for themselves two time champion. Uldrik 457 did it, after last year with the championship at the Stallion show and was again Saturday by the Inspector Henk Bleker made champion. Maybe it was the championship of the Dries 421 son now even more convincing than last year. He combines a beautiful breed type with the most impressive his trot. With lots of impulsion from his powerful hind legs and a nice foreleg. With a little more balance in trotting Uldrik gave the jury the key to choose him over Tsjalle 454. The Mintse 384 son and reigning Dutch champion for the gig, is also a stallion with a surplus of racial expression. At the trot he is also a site to see and deserves the title Reserve Champion. Complements of the jury were also given to the runner-up to the Champion and Reserve Stallions, Grand Prix dressage stallion Anders 451. On Friday night the audience was already his, during a dressage clinic with Peter Spahn and Tineke Bartels. As one of the few horses running high in the sport of dressage, he is fine using his feet. As this 11-year-old shows he’s still very young and had a very correct way of moving. Thus, once again confirmed that the stallions approved in 2009 are a strong batch.
The great atmosphere remains for the Stallion Show. This was evident early on, thanks to the oldest section of the studbook stallions. The older stallions put on a great show. Jury president Harry Draaijer gave them a compliment. With 20 seniors Tsjerk 328 Pref and Ulke 338 in front of the group showed much strength and vitality. Special moments were the tribute to the two brand new preferent Stallions Teunis 332 and Jasper 366, the latter with the rise of the year hardly seems to be losing his vitality. There was a lot of tribute to the ‘oldies’. This was certainly true for the reunion with Leffert 306, which five years to his preferred status in 2006, was honored as a 25-year-old. Leffert in his retirement showed still very fit and energetic.
