It’s November, and that means the start of our board elections, and we will have a seat on the KFPS member council opening this spring! Nominations for the Board or the Member Council will be open today until November 30th. Please (CLICK HERE) to nominate a member. The Board is also putting forth a suggestion for a bylaw change; please see below.
The Current Bylaw Reads “11.6 Review, Reconciliation, and Audits.
A review and reconciliation of the accounts of the Association shall be performed on a yearly basis. The individual conducting such review shall be an independent certified public accountant appointed and secured by the Board. Only upon the recommendation of the individual, will a full audit be conducted. The remuneration of the individual shall be negotiated and fixed by the Board. The reports will be kept on file at the principal office of the Association.”
Recommended change
11.6 Review, Reconciliation, and Audits.
A financial review shall be conducted every year by an independent CPA firm. The president, two current sitting board members or the reviewing CPA firm may call for an audit of the organization at any time. Except for extraordinary circumstances no more than one audit shall occur every other year.
