As you know since the departure of our Executive Director, we’ve been diligently working on administrative functions, audits and a lot of financial things for the organization. During this process we’ve identified some changes to things that affect the way this organization is managed. We’ve identified some policies that need updating.
Our Employee handbook needs to be revised to account for today’s employment laws. These things include use of vacation, work practices, use of FHANA vehicles, use of company credit cards, office practices such as filing, organization and office staffing.
The board of directors meeting held earlier this week addressed efforts to facilitate movement in these matters.
The hiring process to replace our Executive Director continues and we currently have multiple applications that are being “investigated”. Investigated means verifying background elements, interviewing references and developing references as well as being interviewed.
The board has also received a grievance from Ms. Erokhovets for which she filed against Ms. Dodge indicating she had violated the FHANA Code of Conduct. The Board of Directors dismissed the grievance with prejudice.
The 2025 Fall Circuit 5 inspection is being worked on and the schedules for each event are being finalized by the committee. The West inspection will be in Handford, CA and the East will be at the Kentucky Horse Park.
We’re asking the indulgence of the membership as we move through these times without our executive director. This board is committed to bringing business standards to the organization and we want you to know that we can’t survive without our membership and the support of the membership. For multiple reasons, we’re behind in our paperwork and we are working as fast as we can to get the inspection results out to our members and we’re trying hard to get caught up. Please bear with us as we move forward and try to get caught up.
Thanks for your continued support.
