‘King of the stallions’ Jasper died 366

in news

On Tuesday, January 10, Jasper 366, the ‘King of the stallions’, passed away at the age of 28. Jasper 366 was the crowd’s favorite at the Stallion Show and in breeding he was groundbreaking with his swinging movement.

Fit and vital into old age
The Sport Elite and Preferente Jasper 366 enjoyed his retirement with his breeders who have remained his owners and caretakers all these years, the Teake family, Gooitske, daughter Baukje and son Theo Wijma in Jislum. Until a very old age, the stallion with the many wallpaper, the beautiful head and the elastic movement was still fit and vital, and last summer he still trotted through the meadow with bravura. Recently he suffered from a trauma to his leg and that made the family decide to give the stallion a dignified end.

Three days before the Stallion Show
Jasper passed away three days before the Stallion Show 2023, the show where he had so gloriously said goodbye three years ago. He was 25 years old in 2020 when Harry van Middelaar guided him in the long lines past the audience who stood on the benches with tears in their eyes while speaker Bert de Ruiter encouraged him. Who can not remember this memorable day full of goosebumps.

3000 covers
Jasper 366 was born in 1995 as Kasper ‘fan Panhuys’, the son of Olof 315 and Antje ut de Mieden Ster Performance (Franke 251), and in 1998 he got his stud in 1998 as a three-year-old stallion. About 3000 matings of him were registered in his life, he has five approved sons and has produced many grandsons. He produced 8 Model mares, 16 Crown mares and 29 daughters of Jasper. 366 became Preferent, 61 earned the Sport Predicate, 6 became Sport Elite and 14 obtained the AAA predicate.
