Dear Readers,
The FHANA 35th Anniversary Planning Committee is in the very early stages of planning this important event. At this point we know it will be held in Ponoka, Alberta on July 15-17 and more importantly The Friesian Quadrille from The Netherlands has accepted our invitation to come to North America and be the highlight of the festivities. The Quadrille consists of eight pairs of Friesian horses pulling the traditional Friesian buggies, also referred to as a “Sjees”. Our committee needs help in locating any suitable Friesian buggies, designed for a pair, which might exist in North America at the present time. By identifying suitable and available buggies here, we can possibly save costs. The balance will need to be imported from The Netherlands and then ultimately shipped back. Please let the FHANA office know if you have or are aware of someone else owning one of these buggies. Call 1 859 455 7430. The Friesian Quadrille website can be found at www.fryskequadrille.nl/english.php?articleID=22.
