North American Stallion and First Group of Sipke 450 Offspring Testing Completed

04/01/2014

The stallion Zander fan Camelot (Hinne X Jasper) was asked back to the testing for a second time. His first time asked to the testing was back when he had just turned four. In the last week of this first attempt, he was slightly off in his gait and his owner made the difficult decision to bring him home. At seven years old Zander fan Camelot wanted to make a run for the Approval once again. The KFPS was interested in seeing him again based on his great scores at his first attempt.

This magnificent stallion was once again seen by the Judges at his local inspection. They liked what they saw and had asked him back to the 70 day testing beginning in December, 2013.
Zander is a classic/modern built stallion that excels in the Saddleseat and Show Driving disciplines. Show judges would tell you his attitude and presence are what put him at the top of the judges card repeatedly. To say that this stallion has a very large following in the south east of North America would be an understatement. As magnificent as he is, in the end Zander would not be approved. This truly highlights just how hard it is to become an approved stallion. We’re happy we got to see Zander give it his all and we wish him and his owner Victoria Gilenwater all the best as Zander is sure to have an incredible career.

This was the first time FHANA had ABFP (Offspring) testing right here in North America. This testing was for Sipke 450 and it coincided with the stallion testing at DG Bar Ranch. This was a last minute decision by the KFPS and because of the importance of this process for North American Approved Stallions and the future of the approval process in North America, FHANA was excited to be able to hold the testing. Six, three and four year old Sipke offspring were selected for the testing.

At the end of the ABFP testing the offspring in attendance also had the opportunity to be inspected. The difference with this inspection is the entire 60 days is taken into consideration when it comes to awarding predicates and premiums. Sipke offspring were selected first by the closest offspring to DG Bar and then selected by next closest location. Next year if the ABFP testing continues in North America the offspring location "circle" will go out even further for the selection of offspring. We will have to wait and see how this all pans out now that we’re done with the first trial testing.
