This week the assessment of progeny testing was completed. The stallions Jorn 430, Loadewyk 431, Jense 432, Jisse 433, Jesse 435 and Meinse 439 were given approval to continue breeding for 2013. Jense 432 and Jesse 435 received a provisional approval (*), as one of the statutory requirements for final approval is that a minimum of 40 offspring must have been presented at a regular day Keuring. These two stallions will be reviewed regarding these regular day Keuring inspections in the coming year. For Jesse 435 this should not prove to be a problem given that his offspring have scored the highest average performance ever achieved in the AFBP testing. Jisse 433 and Meinse 439 also displayed fine breeding values. Jorn 430 and Loadewyk 431 owe the maintaining of their approval due to a large extent to their largely unrelated bloodlines.
The stallion Lutger 436 will lose his stud license – no progeny was tested. This stallion has struggled with fertility problems since his approval in 2006, due to which the number of his offspring has been extremely low.
The new generation, consisting of Maurits 437 (of whom a large number of progeny has already been tested) Mewes 438, Maeije 440, Maurus 441, Tjalf 443, Norbert 444 and Olgert 445, without exception and according to the stipulations of the amended regulations for progeny testing, have received the green light for progeny testing to commence. This is based on the test results of their first year approved three year olds. The first test, with almost exclusively stallions from the first viewing, has in the mean time already begun at the WB-Stables in Wergea.
The new breeding values for stallions, including the above mentioned stallions, can be viewed in the menu Breeding under Breeding Value/Reports Stallions . The Assessment reports will soon be published there as well
