One of the reasons this change was made relates to the various requests received to make the double preferent title an official title. The KFPS believes that the recently made change takes these requests into consideration. In addition, requesting the preferent title is no longer necessary. Mares that meet the criteria for the preferent title (4 offspring with a star title or stallions that have participated in the second round of judging in a stallion inspection held before 2001) will automatically be given the preferent title. This also means that a request for the preferent title is free of charge, although a transfer charge will be made for any changes in studbook certificates.
