Sabrina Brounts, DIM, MS, PhD, Diplomate ACVS/ECVS, Diplomate ACVSMR is Professor Large Animal Surgery and Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, University of Wisconsin-School of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Brounts received her DVM degree form the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands; completed a residency and masters in science degree in Large Animal Surgery at Purdue University in West-Lafayette, Indiana; and subsequently achieved a PhD degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After becoming a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) and the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS), her clinical experiences and research led her to pursue another certification in equine sports medicine and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary sports medicine and rehabilitation (ACVSMR). Her research interests include soft tissue surgery and sports medicine of the equine athlete (such as lameness and ligament/tendon healing). She has presented her research at national and international meetings as well as received multiple prestigious grants for her research in tendon healing.
