Dr. Perez to update FHANA Membership…

Jairo A. Perez, DVM to speak during the 2024 FHANA AGM.

Dr. Perez is the first-ever recipient of the FHANA Grant Program which was awarded in 2022. He is currently in his 2nd year as resident in Large Animal Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, New Bolton Center. He received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 from Ross University, School of Veterinary Medicine in the West Indies and in 2017 completed his clinical year in Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Perez’s clinical and research interests are centered around the relationship between the equine gut microbiome and administration of antimicrobials and postoperative complication after colic surgery. He belongs to the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and is also a member of AO Vet North America. Dr. Perez has been published twice in Veterinary Surgery.
