Board of Directors recap Feb. 2024

The FHANA Board of Directors met on Friday Feb. 23, 2024.  Here are some highlights from the meeting.

• The Board of Directors reviewed and approved of the 2023 FHANA 990T.
• The BBII Committee proposed to the Board and it was accepted to have the membership vote yes or no to facilitate the registrations of BBII.  This vote is pending the KFPS addressing open FHANA BBII recommendations with a deadline of May 31, 2024.  With this vote details educational information will be provided to the FHANA Membership.  This recommendation was approved.
• The BBII Committee also recommended to the Board the BBII horses be allowed for presentation in person at FHANA inspections pending the open KFPS items mentioned above with a deadline of May 31, 2024.  This recommendation was approved.
• The Stallion committee recommended the mandatory requirement for stallions to attend an inspection prior to attending the Stallion Viewing be removed. This recommendation was approved.
• The Stallion committee also recommended the under saddle requirement be removed for horses that receive the ster predicate in the same year.  This recommendation was approved.
• The Inspection committee presented a new inspection site in Tennessee.  This recommendation was approved.
• The Board approved the suspension of the FHANA Grievance Policy until the policy can be rewritten.
• The Board approved to stop releasing the recordings of the FHANA Board meetings on the FHANA website.
• The board voted in the new officers for 2024.
