Board of Directors Recap April 2024

The FHANA Board of Directors met on April 16, 2024.  Here are some highlights.

  • The inspection committee motioned to review the Coggins requirements for all inspection locations.  It was motioned and approved that going forward all sites would follow their local government and site jurisdictions with regards to requirements to participate in that locations inspections.  These requirements will be administered and communicated through the site hosts.
  • The Board reviewed the Education Committees “FHANA 101”.  This has been sent back to the committee for a few final changes and will be distributed to the FHANA community as soon as it is approved.
  • The Board reviewed our current committee volunteers and it was determined that the following committees could use additional volunteers:  AGM Committee, Editorial Committee, Education Committee, Finance Committee, Chapter Committee, Youth Committee, Marketing Committee, Education Committee, Breeding Committee
  • The Board voted and approved to cancel the 2025 AGM in Reno, NV and rebook the event as part of a Fall 2025 Event such as the FHANA Mare Show in hopes of gaining more participation and more excitement surrounding an event with more horses.  More information will come soon.
  • The board voted and approved of the BBII referendum that is scheduled to go before the membership in June will need a two-thirds vote in favor of those members entitled to vote according to Rules of Order.
    • Example: if 30 votes are cast, a two-thirds vote is 20 in favor for the referendum to be changed.
    • The board also put a stipulation on this vote that after the vote is concluded, the subject will not be brought back up for six (6) years.
