A FHANA Board Liaison acts as a collaborator between the Board of Directors and a specific committee. They facilitate the relationship between the Board and the committee, providing oversight to ensure the goals and interests of the committee’s charter are upheld. The liaison is expected to fulfill informational, decisional, and interpersonal roles, which include participating in discussions, providing guidance, and suggesting concepts to the Committee Chair. The liaison officer shall not vote on committee motions under any circumstances.

The liaison is responsible for capturing motions from the committee and presenting them to the Board of Directors during Board meetings. Additionally, the liaison may be required to clarify or elaborate on the committee discussions pertaining to those motions.

The Board Liaison and the Committee Chair will collaborate to select committee members and submit those names to the Board of Directors for final approval. Committee members and Board Liaisons are generally assigned, reassigned, or approved at the first board meeting following the general election of directors.
