Presidents News Letter
Dear Members,
Happy New Year! I recently returned from the Stallion Show in the Netherlands, where I enjoyed viewing the stallion candidates, the Prom, and various demonstrations. I also met with several Friesian breeders and viewed their stock, including foals, young mares, Ster and Model mares, and young stallions.
If you have the chance to attend the Stallion Show, it is a wonderful experience featuring great food and beautiful scenery. Visiting the breeding farms provides a unique opportunity to see approved stallions and interact with fellow enthusiasts. I also recommend the KFPS mare show in September, which offers similar opportunities with better weather.
The FHANA leadership has been working to provide members with easier access to organizational data. We have created a Dashboard on the FHANA website featuring graphs and charts regarding financial data, inspection statistics, and membership information. This data is pulled directly from Equis and KFPS databases.
The Inspection Committee has finalized the schedule with KFPS leadership. However, the KFPS was unable to commit to supporting our 5th Circuit Stallion viewing during our coordination meeting due to a current shortage of judges. They will evaluate resource requirements before making a final decision.
The 5th Circuit Committee has been assembled and held its first meeting last week. Following the success of our 2025 events in Kentucky and Hanford, CA, we are researching venues for 2026. Given the positive feedback, we plan to repeat the event in Kentucky and are looking into coordinating a similar event for the Hanford inspection.
Membership renewal notices have been sent out. Please note a slight increase in renewal costs this year due to an increase by the KFPS.
On behalf of the FHANA Board of Directors, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to our volunteers. Your time and commitment are invaluable. If you are interested in joining a committee, please complete an application on the FHANA website.
Moving forward, I plan to provide a monthly President’s Newsletter, which will be posted on the FHANA website and Facebook. If you have any questions, please contact your regional board member or myself directly.
Respectfully,
Marquis Laude
President
