Presidents February News Letter

Dear FHANA Members,

As foaling season begins and we look forward to spring, I would like to provide several important updates regarding the association.

FHANA Dashboard
We recently launched the FHANA Dashboard on our website to provide members with real-time organizational data. This includes:

– Accounting: A live display of income and expenses pulled directly from our updated accounting software.
– Inspection Data: Historical statistics and geographical maps used by the Inspection Committee to evaluate site applications.
– Membership Data: A breakdown of membership numbers by category and year.

Board Transitions
During next month’s face-to-face board meeting, we will welcome Sarah Medler for her first term and welcome back Wil Bron for his second term. We will bid farewell to Eric Smith. Eric is concluding nine years of service, and his contributions have been vital to our success. An award presentation in his honor is planned for April.

Financial Oversight
In addition to preparing our annual IRS Form 990, the Board is currently finalizing an agreement with an outside firm to audit our 2024 and 2025 financial records.

New Membership Policy
The Board has approved a new policy supporting By-Law 5.1. This policy outlines a specific discretionary process regarding membership applications and renewals.

KFPS Investigation
We continue to monitor the independent investigation into allegations of wrongdoing within the KFPS in the Netherlands. We ask for your patience as this process unfolds. Please avoid assumptions or spreading unverified information, as such actions could adversely affect both FHANA and the KFPS.

Committees:
It’s that time of year where the Board of Directors evaluates and chooses committees and committee members.  While the Board of Directors selects the Board Liaison for each committee, this liaison will select a chair for the committee if changes need to be made.  Together with the Chair, committee members will be assigned to the committees.
