About Dr.Schnobrich
Dr. Maria Schnobrich grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, where visits to her grandparents’ farm and riding lessons at a young age sparked her interest in horses and large animals.  Her desire to become an equine veterinarian was cemented while volunteering at Tufts Large Animal Hospital during college summers.  Dr. Schnobrich was a first team all-American rower in college and a member of the 2003 U23 US National Team. She attended the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School, followed by an Internship at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital under Dr. Tom Riddle. She then completed a second year as a resident veterinarian at Shadwell farm. Dr. Schnobrich finished her residency in large animal Theriogenology at the University of Pennsylvania in 2012, where she was awarded the William B. Boucher Award for Outstanding Teaching at the New Bolton Center in 2012 as well as the 2012 Charles W. Raker Award. Dr. Schnobrich is a diplomate of the American College of Theriogenology, Dr.Schnobrich since 2012 has worked as a theriogenologist at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital with a primary focus on the problem mare and stallion. She practices in both ambulatory reproduction and advanced reproductive techniques.  She has been involved in several research projects in collaboration with other colleagues both locally and nationally. Her particular interests are diagnostic methods for the problem mare, enhancing reproductive success in the mare and stallion, and evaluating field data to assess practices that enhance reproductive efficiency.  Dr. Schnobrich is married with three children- Macpherson, Patrick and Peter, and lives on a farm in Lexington, KY. Her hobbies include spending time with family and friends, accumulating random animals and chickens, gardening, and drawing/painting.
