2025 Circuit 5 West and East

West – Hanford California 14-15 November

East – Lexington Kentucky 19-23 November

WEST AND EAST INSPECTIONS: KFPS inspections are annual events in North America organized by the KFPS and FHANA to assess Friesian horses for breeding and performance. These inspections evaluate foals and adult horses based on their conformation, movement, and overall suitability for breeding or sport. The KFPS is the official studbook for Friesian horses, and these inspections are a critical part of the breeding program. What a great opportunity to see beautiful Friesians and learn about the KFPS breeding goals.

WEST AND EAST MARE SHOWS: This is our 8th FHANA Mare Show. KFPS registered Friesian Mares from across Canada and the United States gather for the premier North American mare event—the FHANA Mare Show. First premie yearlings or two-year-old’s, Ster, Kroon, or Model mares qualify. These mares are Simply the Best! The improving mare quality each year is a testament to breeders’ commitment to exceptional Friesians.

WEST AND EAST Stallion Viewing: The KFPS selects stallions for the studbook register through a series of inspections and examinations as part of the KFPS breeding program. Stallions between the age of 2.5 and 6 years are eligible for Stallion Viewing in North America. The stallion does not need a Ster rating to be eligible for the viewing. Foal Book stallions are evaluated against minimum standards for various traits and abilities. Ultimately, after all assessments, a decision is made by the KFPS whether to enter the stallion into the Studbook register.

WEST AND EAST ENTERTAINMENT: We are excited to offer participants the opportunity to see our beloved Friesians performing under saddle and driving. What a great opportunity to see the beauty and versatility of this incredible breed presented by talented trainers and owners.

WEST AND EAST EDUCATION: Event participants can attend a session on breeding, The Successful Use of Frozen and Fresh Cooled Semen, presented by the renowned expert Doeke Hoekstra. He is recognized globally for his research on improving breeding outcomes.

THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM): FHANA will offer a 2025 AGM at the East site in Lexington Kentucky. What a great opportunity to network with your Friesian community over dinner, receive FHANA organizational updates and annual reports, and hear the announcement of our amazing award recipients.

EAST HORSE SHOW: There will be an exciting two day open breed show on a Saturday and Sunday at the Kentucky Horse Park. This is the first of its kind! The prize, class, and rule lists are now available, just click on the link below!
